I explore the landscape in search of grounding and connecting to the world I live in. Photographing landscapes is a slow, deliberate process of seeing. I use a large wooden view camera on a wooden tripod for two reasons---the weight and ponderous nature of the tools force me to move slowly, and the large negatives reveal elements of the landscape that I might overlook.

Most of my work is done in and around the place I live, often within a short drive from my home, at times a short walk.
