What do you do when a friend needs to escape
an abysmal marriage and an ironclad prenup? Set up her hairy-eared husband
with an affair, of course. What do you do when word of your success
leaks out to other miserable, divorce-minded wives? Make a business
out of seduction.
When Dom, Ridelle, and Twyla manage to whisk Frannie away from her crappola marriage, they think they've got all the makings for a grand seduction scheme. But when a client has second thoughts in the form of a bullet, the women discover that if the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, questionable intentions lead somewhere even worse.
EXCERPT FROM A GRAND SEDUCTION:
Twyla frowned. "Honey? What is it?"
Ridelle's voice was cautious. "Frannie."
The others turned and saw Frannie Myers approach, red hair tumbling out from under a white straw hat. Her dress was a travel-wrinkled but flattering A-line, cinched in at the waist with a wide belt that accentuated her hourglass form. Frannie's button-down collar was turned up slightly; simple pumps, a necklace of chunky white beads, and oversized sunglasses completed a look that said casual money. Or would, if not for her posture. The walk was clumsy, defeated, and despite Ray-Bans that covered half her face it was no chore to see the expression she wore.
Fear.

A
Grand Seduction Q&A
Q. Where did you come up with the idea?
A. The title actually popped into my head first while I was out driving. Same thing happened with Twelve Steps to Murder. As I contemplated the title, I wondered what would happen if someone started a seduction scheme to frame husbands of unhappy women.
Q. Why would setting up husbands with affairs matter in court? I thought it didn't matter anymore whether a spouse cheated?
A. Largely true-in the majority of states. No-fault laws presented a logistical problem for me in setting the book's location. There are still some states, however, that argue fault. A Grand Seduction is set between two of those states-Pennsylvania and New York.
Q. Uh, what's this I hear about a scene with a dancing dildo?
A. There IS a scene with just such a dildo. I won't give it away,
but there is a bit of a story behind it. I had a hilariously funny,
Irish uncle who always told bawdy jokes at family gatherings. One distinct
memory was the time he told a joke about dancing dildos. I don't remember
it now, but I do remember the aftermath. You see, I was naught
but an innocent little teenaged girl--who was the only one to break
out in a fit of laughter at the punchline. Why? None of my other relatives
even knew what a "dildo" was. The scathing, horrified looks
given to me by my aging grandma and the others as he explained were
ones I won't ever forget. Still, I've always wanted to work "dancing
dildos" into a conversation, so I went one better and wrote it
into a novel for all posterity. Thanks, Uncle Jim.
