A bereaved father decides to get his daughter back...by joining her on the other side.
EXCERPT FROM THE GREAT WHITE SKY TREE:
I'd never seen a tree on fire before. Unless you counted Moses' burning bush in the movie The Ten Commandments, but even a deified shrub paled in comparison to the blazing show overhead. The tree formed from plumes of cloud, coaxed by the wind into branching limbs. Reds and violets streaked the sky as the sun sank behind the cloud, setting it ablaze with a tangible orange glow.
It seemed fitting that this sunset should command the heavens with such majesty, considering it was the last I'd ever see.

Tree Q&A
Q. How did you come up with the idea
for this?
A. This began as part of a first-line contest. The prompt was, "I'd never seen a tree on fire before." I saw that and instantly wrote the opening...then realized it fit perfectly with a story idea I had based on a series of conversations with a dear friend about life after the loss of a child.
Q. What are "Amazon Shorts?"
