Meet the Instructor

  Lisa Logan

...took a unique approach to learning fiction writing: she immersed herself in the writer's community and used her skills in web design to learn author promotion before penning so much as a short story. In the years since, she helped build web presences for the likes of Susan McBride, Joel Goldman, Rochelle Krich, and BreakThrough Promotions. Lisa also launched MysteryAuthors.com, one of the first multi-author promotional sites to ever appear on the net. She is still Editor and administrator of the site, which received 60,000 page hits last year.

With a family background in show business (including a husband who has worked as an actor, prop maker, stunt choreographer, makeup artist, and script writer), Lisa turned to the idea of producing a video trailer when her own first novel, VISIONS, was set for release. The trailer won rave reviews--and several inquiries about the name of the "production company" she used. When Lisa admitted to using the DIY approach, fellow Authors asked her to teach them her secret. In response to multiple requests, she designed this workshop, so that any author can learn how to make their own promotional trailer.

Meanwhile, that first trailer was nominated for a 2007 Cameo award for Best Paranormal Romance, and her second book's trailer won Best Other Romance Trailer with The Romance Room.

Lisa lives, writes, and promotes from her desk in Southern California, with her husband and preschooler providing advice and encouragement. (Beware, a 4-year-old's take on effective online promotion may prove UNIQUE at best.)
