Map of Leith area

In trying to sort out the Logan points of interest in Leith, I realized that there is a shortage of current maps of Leith.  Therefore I made my own.  This is based on what was reflected on the Ordnance Survey maps of 100 years ago.

"The Barony of Restalrig was of large extent and was especially valuable, as it included the port and town of Leith.  Its boundries were: Beginning at the east, the Friggate Burn which runs into the sea; Thence west along the shore to the Water of Leith, up the Water of Leith to Bonnington, thence the "Peelrig" ran south to the west end of the Calton Hill, which Hill was included in the Barony; thence directly east along what is now the north back of the Canongate to near the Water Gate, where it turned northerly for a short distance to avoid the Abbey lands; thence easterly and southerly taking in the whole of the King's Park and Arthur's Seat to near Duddingston, thence easterly to the Friggate Burn."

So, basically Restalrig encompassed this whole area shown (with the exception of Holyrood and High Street) but extended beyond what this map shows in the easterly, northerly, and southeasterly directions. Essentially the Barony of Restalrig was everything north and east of downtown Edinburgh.
