About the
Manhattan Chapter
-
We learn, from guest speakers as well as other members, how to communicate optimally with our hearing
loss at work, home, school, and in social settings.
- We hear about cutting-edge research.
We see demonstrations of the
latest technology available to those with hearing loss, such as hearing aids, cochlear implants, alerting devices, assistive listening systems.
- We are active advocates
for people with hearing loss: writing to legislators
about pending bills affecting us; calling and writing to
TV networks to increase and improve closed captioning of programs;
asking for and using assistive listening devices in hotels,
houses of worship, theaters, and conferences.
