The Pine Bush Anomaly Archive

Flying Saucer Gazette

Flying Saucer Gazette is a web ‘zine that started in the mid to late 1990s when it could be said that Pine Bush’s reputation for hosting anomalous activity was at its peak.  Less concerned about discussing actual reports and accounts, the Gazette presented a humorous and often biting look at the sociology surrounding the area’s reputation for unusual activity.  Created by writer and creative (and skywatcher) Scott C. Carr, it stands as a different look at the community and notoriety of the area in the late 1990s.  The last issue was published 1998, but occasional updates are made to the hosting page.  Mr. Carr is a talented writer who has published fiction in the past, as well as being the developer behind the television series Dead Tenants.  His film The Nuke Brothers is currently making festival rounds, and news of his current projects can be found at www.myspace.com/sardy .

The Pine Bush Phenomenon

This site was created by long-time skywatcher Vincent Polise as a display for his personal photos and accounts, and has become the virtual center for news and discussion concerning the area’s reported unusual activity.  Vinny first visited Pine Bush in the early 1990s and was sufficiently impressed by what he witnessed to spend several nights per week for many years visiting the area.  This resulted in nights of sightings and hundreds of photos, many of which are featured on his site.  His book The Pine Bush Phenomenon, available at Amazon.com, delves into his experiences and his impressions of what he observed.  In addition to being the web representation for the discussion group U.F.O.S., the site also displays the photos of other skywatchers from the Pine Bush area.  There is also a corresponding Yahoo Group associated with Vinny’s site and the U.F.O.S. group, which can be found at tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/pinebushufo, and will feature announcements concerning the area, website, and discussion group.  The corresponding Myspace page can be found at www.myspace.com/pinebushufo.
Dr. Bruce Cornet

Bruce Cornet is by training and profession a geologist and palynologist who was introduced to the stories of unusual activity in Pine Bush in the early 1990s through researcher Ellen Crystall’s writings.  Later, he teamed up with Ms. Crystall and started a multi-year research project involving field observation and geologic surveys.  An early presence on the web concerning Pine Bush, he is unique in that he has applied a scientific discipline to the area’s reported anomalous activity.  Developing his own unique theories on the activity he has observed, he has been a prominent influence on the opinions and outlook concerning the topic of anomalous activity in the Pine Bush area, and for one to fully understand the debate surrounding the topic one must be familiar with Dr. Cornet’s material.  He currently lives in Texas but is still active in researching the Pine Bush area.
