LITERACY VOLUNTEERS OF FAUQUIER COUNTY
2006-2007
LVFC MISSION STATEMENT
We believe that the ability to read is critical to personal freedom,
the preservation of strong families, and the maintenance of a
democratic society. Our society is dependent on an informed
citizenry, and the ability to read is necessary to be informed.
As our culture becomes more complex and dependent on
technology, literacy becomes ever more basic to survival and
the achievement of one's potential.
Literacy Volunteers of Fauquier county exist to improve the
reading, writing, basic communication, study, and computer skills
of adults in Fauquier County
and to promote learning as a
fundamental goal shared by family members. We will accomplish
these ends by bringing together dedicated learners
and committed, well-trained volunteers.
