75th Anniversary 1933-2008

I just couldn't imagine a town without a library.
~Dr. Maurice M. Pine

Rand McNally Geo-Physical Globe
Rand McNally Geo-Physical Globe

The globe was donated by the Rotary Club in 1967 and cost over $12,000.  It is almost 7 feet high, 6 feet in diameter and weighs nearly 350 pounds.  One of only a few ever made, others reside in the Library Of Congress and the Buhl Science Center in Pittsburgh.  Now you know why we ask that you, "Kindly stop spinning the globe!".

From a one-room private library with 200 donated books and 43 patrons to a multistory building complete with an art gallery, over 160,000 volumes and 21,000 registered borrowers, the library has come a long way in 75 years.

It couldn't have been done without you!
