of Owning a Medical Practice: Rx for Practice Owners.
In 1984 the world of medicine
began looking for entrepreneurial people able to look beyond the pedestrian to see better ways of doing things and comfortable
carving new paths. Ms. Horowitz, a product of pioneers and entrepreneurs dating back to 1850 with her own early success, was
tapped to work with organizations interested in creating or expanding medical programs. They included health maintenance organizations,
walk-in clinics, multi-specialty groups, single specialty practices, management service organizations, independent physician
associations, and hospitals.
One of a very few that has crossed
the chasm of healthcare, Ms. Horowitz has worked in many areas of the industry including, but not limited to, home health
care, chiropractic, radiology, psychiatry, dentistry, OB/GYN, internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics, neurology, and
holistic health. In addition she worked with owners of non-provider organizations such as nutrition, medical billing
and coding, elder care, and practice management.
“I started my career wanting
to help people by becoming a social worker. However my daughters and my creative
spirit led me down a path gravitating to projects where the rules had to first be created.
The roles of women and the world of medicine were rapidly changing and I found myself in the middle of both being called
upon to lead. It was the joy of doing things that literally would change thousands
of lives that gave me courage.”
As George Bernard Shaw eloquently
stated “some men see things as they are and say why? I see things that never were and say why not?” M2 Power
is the manifestation of the “why not”. It provides people, in position to affect the lives of others, with
the ability to uplift themselves and society to greater prosperity not only in this generation but future generations.
Ester Horowitz is an entrepreneurial
advocate and a proud mother of two daughters, one in Opera, and the other in reality TV.
