Aargh!
So, this is where, if I choose to, I say stuff about myself.
I choose to.
The usual:
I was born in Queens, NY on a dreary, fall
day, in the year of 1972 -- October 29 to be exact. From what I was told, I spent six months in the states, then was shipped
off to the Caribbean island of Trinidad to live with my grandparents until I was two (for which I was eternally grateful).
Then, I moved back to the States, spent some years in Jersey,
in a Catholic School (double-Aargh!!), then moved to NYC to attend NYU. I got my degree in Chemistry -- among a few other
things (you can find these other things if you read between the lines of my stories) -- and have been living in
NYC ever since (doing nothing Chemistry related, of course).
I tinkered with writing as a youngster. I remember writing
a version of the television show, The A Team, called "The B Team." I was Hannibal of course. I even took a creative
writing course in high school.
It wasn't until I did one of those soul searching deals that
usually happens in your twenties / early thirties that I finally decided to dive into writing.
For the past couple of years, I've devoted my free time to
learning about writing, and volunteering for an Adult Literacy Program in my area.
Revision 11/28/07: Well,
the Adult Learner volunteering turned into a full time deal, and I'm now working full time in the Adult Literacy Field. It
is definitely the most gratifying job experience I've had -- but there are days when I don't know whether I'm coming or going.
So, I'm gonna get my Master's of Science in Adult Education and see where that takes me.
Revision 08/01/08
I'm now pursuing my Masters in Adult Education. It's an online degree through Buffalo State University.
It's harder than I thought, but I definitely have the passion for it. It's weird when you finally find something you really
want to do. When I was in undergrad, I struggled through Chemistry, hated to open a book towards the end. Now, I'm eager
to learn about my major, and I'm getting better grades too!
I finally took the plunge and began writing my first novel! That was/is
hard is Hell! I began with one idea and it's turning out to be another, but I'm enjoying and hating the process at the same
time.
I guess that's about it.
Thanks for reading.
