Dance With Us!

This Saturday dance to live strains of Country Dance music. Our community dance focuses on the older English dances — as fun to do today as they were in the 1600s. This is the last dance before we take a summer break so don't miss it!

Contradance — Melrose Dances for the Community

Melrose Unitarian Universalist Church, 70 West Emerson St., Melrose, MA

On the third Saturdays of each month we hold English Country Dances in the Melrose UU Church — all dances taught, newcomers and sit-in musicians welcome, no partners necessary! Contras, Squares, and Couples Dances are usually included.

English Country dances were brought from Europe by the settlers in the 17th century and have been danced here ever since. Cammy Kaynor (violin/recorder) leads the band and teaches the dances with the aid of Lia Kaynor (assistant dancing master). Eli Kaynor (cello) may join us this time (if he isn’t working). Sit ins and newcomers welcomed.
