The Civic Center Philosophy
At
The Civic Center, we install only genuine Honda and Toyota parts with
the highest quality workmanship. Customers are free to wait for a diagnosis
in our office or they may stay with their vehicle if they wish. So that there
are no surprises, all customers are given a capped price for parts and service
before any work is done. You will not be charged more than this quote for the work specified; in fact you might pay less!
While we currently do not have loaner cars or a
shuttle service, we do have a clean, comfortable service facility that is
conveniently located on the Blue Line.
After service is complete, the old parts are returned to the package in which the new
parts came. Our customers may choose to take the old parts or have us
dispose of them. We
hide nothing.

Know Who is Working on Your Car
Unlike many shops that offer auto repairs in Boston, your car may be handed to a different
mechanic each time, at The Civic Center you can rest in the knowledge
that all work is done by The Civic Center owner; Lenny Mariano, a Honda and Toyota Specialist. Many
shops hire junior mechanics to perform light duty work such as oil
changes and tire balancing. At The Civic Center all auto repair work is done by the proprietor, Lenny
Mariano to ensure that everything is done properly.

Workmanship...
Quality
workmanship is as much a factor in vehicle repair as are
original equipment parts. At The Civic Center, my clean, precise and
conscientious workmanship is key to my overall approach to service. I
simply refuse to work any other way. From a simple oil change to the
most complex repairs, every vehicle I work on is inspected for safety
or other potential problems. At The Civic Center,
all fluids are topped off, as is tire pressure, and the entire car is
examined during every oil change. My steadfast commitment to
quality service ensures that my customers have
a clear picture of the condition of their vehicle.

An Important Note about Original Equipment
Replacement Parts
Not
many repair shops install only original equipment parts. In fact,
many shops don't install any original equipment parts at all. There is
considerably lower profit on the sale of these parts and generally,
they can only be procured from the new car dealer.
To properly maintain
your Honda or Toyota, it is vitally important that you demand only
original equipment replacement parts and proof of their installation.
An
Ounce of Prevention is Definitely Worth a Pound of Cure
There
are some components of your car that should be replaced before
they fail. Two examples of these are CV (constant velocity) boots and
the timing belt.
The CV boots are
flexible rubber containers on the axles of front-wheel drive and some
four-wheel drive
vehicles. CV boots contain the grease that lubricates the CV joints. If
a boot is worn and ripped, the grease will leak out and the CV joint
will
be damaged before long. The result is a costly repair.
The Timing Belt is a
sturdy rubber belt that drives the valve system on your car. On older
cars
and some newer cars, this function is performed by the timing chain. If
you have a timing belt, it should be replaced at factory recommended
intervals. If the timing belt is not replaced, and it fails, the result
could be as straightforward
as a timing belt service, or as serious as a major repair, depending on
your type of engine. If your car has an interference engine, (usually, higher performance
vehicles will have these) the valves can
be driven into the pistons, resulting in considerable damage. To find

36,000 Mile Warranty
Most warrantees on repairs, including those from the dealership, are a
maximum of 1 year or 12,000 miles. The Civic Center is so confident in
its choice of parts and workmanship that most repairs, parts and labor,
will be covered for a full 3 years or 36,000 miles - whichever comes
first. I will even support any manufacturer's warranty on parts that I install that exceed 3 year / 36,000 miles.
In fact, some parts may be warranteed for life. Parts included in this
warranty will be limited to those that are not subject to wear by the
vehicle's operator (e.g. brakes, clutches, tires). The Civic Center
reserves the right to specify which parts will be covered before they
are installed. Please feel free to inquire about which parts will be
covered before any service is done. The Civic Center will be happy to
provide warranty details verbally or in writing.
