The Jennifer Hunter Yates Sarcoma Foundation (JHYSF) was created in loving
memory of Jennifer Hunter Yates by her family, her friends, & members of
the Medical Staff from Massachusetts General Hospital who treated her. Jen
bravely fought two forms of Sarcoma, Malignant Peripheral Nerve Sheath Tumor
& Osteosarcoma, for 17 months until sadly succumbing to these diseases on
April 13th, 2004. Read more about Jen's Story...The 6th Annual 12,402 Steps to Cure Sarcoma Walk will be held on Saturday, May 8th, 2010.
On behalf of the Jennifer Hunter Yates Sarcoma Foundation, it is with our heartfelt thanks that we bestow on everyone who participated in this years walk, whether by walking, or by pledging one of our 455 walkers! It is our yearly walk that keeps our foundation alive and driven to succeed. Unfortunately for us, and other families that were there today, their loved one has succumbed to this horrible disease. It is the people that we see in those gold shirts that we know that this disease, with more research, can be overcome. Once again, THANKS! As of the end of the walk we have exceeded over $120K in donations which we expect to grow over the coming weeks. It is with these funds that the MGH Sarcoma Center can strive to help others and hopefully find a cure.

The Jennifer Hunter Yates Sarcoma Foundation proudly presented a check last year in the amount of $131,000 to the MGH Sarcoma Center from the funds raised at last years event.
To date the JHYSF has raised and presented $575,000 to the Sarcoma Center at MGH!
