Dinosaurs, 1963
By Nicholas Hotton III
According to a short biography in the book, Hotton was Associate
Curator of Fossil Amphibians and
Reptiles at the Smithsonian Institution when he wrote Dinosaurs. The book includes
several plates showing
photos of mounted skeletons from the Smithsonian Natural History
Museum, photos of dinosaur models,
and a few copies of well known illustrations of prehistoric animals,
from artists such as James M. Gleeson
and Charles R. Knight. Alas, the paltry illustrations in this
book are disappointing, so if you like to collect old
dinosaur books for the illustrations, do not bother with this one.
