Meep and Myrna Productions

24-Track Digital Recording, Production, and Mastering

I have built a 24-track studio in my basement, called (naturally) Meep and Myrna Studios. I can perform any or all of the steps necessary to take any multi-track recording project from start to finish.

  • Multi-Track Recording
  • Post-Production and Mixing
  • Mastering and CD Burning
  • CD Release

The front-end of my studio is the Meep and Myrna Mobile Recording Unit (MMMRU), consisting of:
  • OSP mixer rack
  • Mackie 1604-VLZPRO Mixer
  • Rackrider RR-15 power strip
  • Alesis ADAT HD24 hard disc recorder (w/PC Firewire interface)
  • Behringer Ultrapatch Pro patchbay
  • Behringer Eurorack Pro monitor preamps (4)
  • Behringer Powerplay Pro-8 8-channel headphone preamp
The MMMRU has a nice comfortable home in my studio, but I built it to be sufficiently portable to take out of my studio to do recordings "in the field" as well.

I do all of my post-production, mixing, mastering, and CD burning on a Dell Dimension 9100 computer equipped with a Soundblaster Audigy sound card, Steinberg's Cubase SX3 production software, and Steinberg's Wavelab wave editing/mastering/CD burning software. For additional monitoring, I use KRK V8 powered studio monitor speakers.

I have 3 studio condenser microphones (left):
  • AKG Perception 200
  • Behringer B-2 Pro
  • NADY SCM 1000

I also have 4 of the tried-and-true Shure mics; a pair of SM57s and a pair of SM58s (right).

I have placed studiofoam on my walls, including bass traps in the corners.

In addition, I have built a pair of partitions, also covered with studiofoam, to provide some degree of isolation when recording drums with other instruments.

I have my own independent record label, called (naturally) Meep and Myrna Records. I have four CD releases to date. For all cover songs on any of my releases, I secure all appropriate licenses as required by U.S. copyright law. Click here to see my discography.
