A scholarship fund has been established at the University of Kansas' William Allen White School of Journalism, in memory of Stanalene Anderson (who died on January 26, 2000 at the age of 73) and her son William (who was killed in an accident on October 25, 1970 at the age of 18).  This fund has designated single mothers who are pursuing careers in Journalism and Mass Communications as primary beneficiaries.
