Image Collection: Circular Knotwork Designs

These images were developed using three techniques:

1. Derivation from existing triangular knotwork designs (see the Triangular Knotwork image pages for samples of the original patterns. This technique is found in [BainI] page 92.
2. Adaptation of existing conventional knotwork patterns to circular (actually, annular) areas.
3. Use of fully circular patterns (from original sources or novel).

The images included in this section use all three methods.

Clip art materials using circular knotwork patterns are divided into the following categories:
