FEED THE CHILDREN Fundraising
As a Chapter, we set a goal to raise $5,000.00 to donate
to FEED THE CHILDREN at this year's STAR-BQ, being held in Kerrville.
We are planning a Chapter Ride to the event, so make your reservations soon (go to the EVENTS page for more info). At our
January meeting Wendy and Sabrina came up with an idea to get us started, and we followed through with it by dipping and selling
nearly 70 dozen chocolate covered strawberries for Valentine's Day. It was very successful! We made over $560.00 profit.
We want to thank all of those involved, with
a special thanks to the Matlocks for allowing us to use their home for this occasion. A great big thanks needs to be given
to Wendy for all she did in coordinating the event, and her friend Sandy for helping us get started.
If we are to achieve our goal, we all need to be doing what
we can to raise donations. Talk to businesses that you frequent to see if they would be willing to contribute to FEED THE CHILDREN. There are donation forms available (contact Mark at mlcampbell42@verizon.net ) to present to contributors; and it is a tax deduction.
If anybody has other ideas on how we as a Chapter can raise
more donations, please feel free (actually, it is encouraged) to let us know. Contact Paul, Mark, Sabrina, or any of the officers,
and we will bring up to the Chapter. Or, just speak up at our monthly meeting and present your ideas.
