You will be required to kneel and move around on the floor, and use physical strength and effort to perform certain skills such as chest compressions and mouth-to-manikin ventilations so wear loose, comfortable clothing. If you have a medical concern that may prevent you from taking the class we suggest you consult with your physician prior to registration.
There is a maximum of 9 students per class.
Cost covers textbooks, manikin supplies and postage. We have to pay for these items whether you arrive to take the class or not, hence the non-refundable fee. All fees go towards supplies to maintain our volunteer first responder organization and to hold more CPR classes. We thank the Georgetown Texas Fire Department for letting us use their classroom.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
- What other classes are available?
All classes available to the public that we hold will be listed on our web page. Classes are posted on the web page as soon as the logistics such as classroom and instructors are fulfilled. Other organizations may have other classes scheduled but they do not share that information with us.
- Are you affiliated with the Red Cross?
No, we are affiliated with the American Heart Association. The Red Cross does not share their class schedule with us.
- Are children under 18 years old allowed to take the class?
There is no age restriction for students. For CPR classes, generally we find children under 80-100 pounds (depending on the child) might have difficulty performing chest compressions at the proper depth for a sustained period of time. All students need to demonstrate multiple cycles of proper CPR to pass the course.
- What if I cannot make a class that I paid for?
You may apply your registration fee to a similar class in the future.
- Can I bring my lunch and eat in the classroom?
Yes, you may, but please clean up after yourself before class resumes.
- Can I get a receipt for the class?
You may request a receipt on class day.
- Is smoking allowed during class?
No, smoking is not allowed in any AHA class.
- Can I call someone for more information?
Right now we only communicate by email (see above). Students will be given a phone number of their instructor to use, if needed, after they are registered. Do not call the Georgetown Fire Department, Georgetown Airport or Williamson County EMS since they are not involved in the scheduling of these classes.

The Georgetown Medical Assist Team provides their own manikins and supplies through donations and grants from community organizations such as the United Way and companies such as IBM and Dell. We are strictly a volunteer organization and these classes are taught by volunteers that receive no monetary funds from these classes.
