Forget it, nothing can top Central Texas, and for all ages. There is ALWAYS something to do. There are all kinds of fairs, live music, dancing, sports, etc. going on. Oh, did I mention all the lakes, locomotive rides, concerts, rodeos, BBQ's, art exhibits, Mexican festivals, theaters, comedies, etc. San Antonio is within reach to the south where you have the Alamo, Riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags, and the outlet centers on the way there. Hit SA at Christmas and New Year's and you will never forget it. Just beautiful. Austin's Sixth Street is something to experience on a Saturday night, with all the live music flowing into the streets and everyone having a good time, but not if you're conservative of clothing, jewelry and hairstyles. You'll see it all. This is a major college town and it shows. We have a minor league AA baseball team in Round Rock. The rivalry between Texas A&M and the University of Texas is alive and well (and extreme at times!) Even the sale and use of fireworks is legal outside of the major cities during Independence Day and New Year's.
