Mike Clark started Showcase Comics in a 250 square foot store in Bryn Mawr, PA in 1988. Although we've
grown in size, our image and character remains the same. We're an independent store committed to personal service.
We know our customers and they know us.
Mike's wife relates this story: I was speaking to the mother of my daughter's friend who just had to tell
her of her experience at Showcase Comics. Her daughter was invited to the birthday party of a 7th grade boy. She
asked his mother what he would like and the mother of the boy told her he played Games Workshop games and she could get something
for him at Showcase Comics. When the mother of the girl asked how she would know what he already had, the boy's mother
told her to ask one of the guys behind the counter. Now to say that this woman was skeptical is an understatement.
She thought to herself, "This woman has quite the opinion of her son if she thinks that the guys behind the counter will even
remember him, let alone know what he already has in his army." But she went to the store and started to look around.
Mike came up to her to ask if he could help her find anything. So she mentioned the boy's name and said she was looking
for a birthday present for him. Not only did Mike know the boy, but he was immediately able to point her to several
things which he knew he did not have in his army and had been wanting. Needless to say, she was so amazed she couldn't
wait to relate the experience.
Such is life at Showcase Comics. Come and check it out for yourself.
