The Iron Empires has
been a life-long project of mine, launched in the early 1980's with a densely
annotated sketchbook. It has since given birth to two painted graphic
novels: Faith Conquers (1994, Dark Horse Comics) and Sheva's
War (1998, Helix/DC Comics), as well as a short black and white story:
The Passage (Chapter 1: 1994 Dark Horse Comics and Chapter 2: 1997
Caliber Press). From the beginning, the universe was as much
the star of the Iron Empires stories as the characters. A place for
me explore my love of history, my interest in the movement of humanity
in its masses, my horror of and fascination with war. Over the years, I've
amassed a huge amount of material relating to the Iron Empires. I'll
try to organize some of it here:
