The license plates shown here are in scale in relation to eachother. Note that the plates got a bit smaller during the years of WWII (1944 the smallest). In 1955, the US Congress mandated that all US license plates be made the same size (6X12 inches). The 1951 through the 1955 Kansas plates, along with the 1936 through 1956 Tennessee plates, were unique in that the state outline was used. Updated: 11 Jan 06. My email address: moore.vb@verizon.net
