Personality Wisperwind Demi Locket is a wonderful
pup bred by Linda Caldwell. Pure delight describes our feeling for this poodle.

At Linda Caldwell's request and desire for  a pup from "Demi".
we are proceeding with health testing.  A handsome mate has been selected, CH. Arctus Ice Wiz of Whisperwind.  Once we are satisfied with all health tests, and she is ready we will anticipate beautiful pups.  Entering the pedigree makes access to the information easy for Demi's mom to revisit
as well.

"Demi" is currently working on Obedience, Rally and Agility. 

Thank you for looking in on our poodles.  Breeding a poodle puppy is
not how we support ourselves. 
A breeding is only arranged when
we are looking for a pup to show.
 Show quality puppies are
sold on condition that they achieve
 an AKC conformation title.
Puppies sold to pet homes must spay or neuter their pups by 6 months of age.

AKC Champion In and MPI Henri DurretteColbert RN, was finished July 4, 2005 with Miyuki at Lima, Ohio. There are many that contributed to Henri's Championship, Ken Billock, Ann Rairigh, Sarah Reidle and it's through their professional presentation that Henri finished.
Health Clearances as follows, Hips OFA EX,  CERF clear, vW clear, Color DNA.  He has an exceptionally friendly disposition.

Our Poodles enjoy daily exercise on the farm and in the mountainous woodland.  They are close companions while the farm chores are attended to and then are happy to spend the evening quietly in the house.  They take turns spending the work days at Jackson Animal Clinic behind the reception desk where there is opportunity to socialize with clients.  Such is the life of a Durrette Poodle.

The Poodle Breed
 
The Standard Poodle is known for it's intelligence. 
The origin of the breed is controversial and although we think of it as a French Poodle, 
there is some suggestion that the breed was developed in Germany or Denmark.  France adopted it as their national dog.
The poodle was originally used in Germany to retrieve water fowl.
The Continental trim was not given for esthetic purpose,
but was a practical way to protect the joints and organs.
  The poodle is a very versatile  dog and certainly a good choice for a person
that wants a dog for a loyal companion and house dog,
as well as for performance in obedience, agility retrieving  or tracking. 
 
Purchase Considerations:
Although the poodle does not shed it's hair, brushing regularly is required. 
Clipping  needs to be done at least every 6 weeks.  Please consider the on going expense if you plan to use a professional groomer.
If it  is something you would like to learn, I believe you will find much pride in grooming your own poodle and can enjoy the compliments given to your proud dog.
 
All puppies are sold on individual treaty. 
Show quality puppies that are sold
without a spay and neuter contract,
must acquire an AKC Championship in Conformation. 
Buyers will need to have a way to keep their puppy 
confined and safe when outside. 
A puppy training class and
other socialization opportunities are encouraged.
 Clicker training is one of the most satisfying of the training classes
and I strongly urge you to engage your puppy in this manner.
Vaccination Protocol

.  This is one protocol
where 3 puppy shots at 9, 12, and 16-20 weeks are given, then 1 more booster (Modified Live  virus)a year later
and thereafter  annually running titers to determine the condition of the immune
system.  A 3 year rabies(killed virus vacc) can be given at 24 weeks or older.  Separte the timing of the rabies from the Distemper/Parvo shot.
Vaccinations should not be given to a sick animal.  Bitches in estrus, pregnancy
or lactating should not receive vaccinations.
