Chloroplasts are located in plants cells.  They are large, irregular shaped green structures.  The are green in color, due to the grren pigment they contain, called chlorophyll.  Chlorophyll aid in photosynthesis, the production of sugar from water and carbon dioxide that the plant takes in.  The sugar is used as a food source for the plant, which helps power cellular respiration.
