Our Special Needs Dogs

Wonder where your donations go? Or why we charge adoption fees higher than the shelters? Some of the dogs on this page have received extensive medical treatment and/or have been with our rescue for a while. Can you open up your heart and home to one of them?

TJ - 9 year old purebred male Miniature Schnauzer. TJ and Oliver were turned in by their owner she said because "her child was allergic". Both dogs were neglected, filthy, and had worms. Neither dog had not seen the vet or been vaccinated in over 4 years. Shortly after getting TJ we found that he had calcium oxalate bladder stones requiring surgery. TJ did have surgery 5 years ago for stone removal. We had surgery done again on TJ in May to remove six large stones along with more than dozen small ones. He did fine after his surgery and has made a full recovery. We struggled a bit to get his diet right, as the food for stones was too high in fat. Our vet recommends a low fat diet for this boy. To date we have spent $2000 on TJ, but he now has a clean bill of health and we feel he deserves a chance at a normal life and a new loving owner. TJ is a friendly affectionate boy... you couldn't tell he is an older guy by looking at him, he is still very energetic! We are hoping a schnauzer lover with a soft spot will open their hearts and home to TJ and give him the type of loving home which he's waited for his entire life. TJ gets along well with other dogs. TJ is approximately 25 pounds.
