If you are interested in helping out with schnauzer rescue, you might consider contacting a schnauzer rescuer in your own area and offer assistance with fostering, grooming, transporting dogs, doing home checks, fund raising etc. If you are unable to help due to time constraints maybe you can help by making a donation. Donations are always needed and appreciated! Most rescue groups fund most expenses incurred by their rescues out of their own pockets which it can be quite costly. Besides monetary donations other items usually needed are collars, leashes, blankets, dog beds, crates, carriers, exercise pens, bowls, towels, flea treatments, grooming supplies, first aid supplies etc.
Use the Schnauzer Rescue list located at www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/8549/rescuecontacts.html to a find a rescuer (or rescue group) that is closest to your geographical area. Most rescuer groups would be very happy to receive additional help! If you have no schnauzer rescuers in your area, you might consider assisting an all breed rescue group or volunteering at a local shelter... that too can be very rewarding... you might be able to help schnauzers as well as other breeds!
