Quinn began conducting classes as a registered Music Together® teacher in
June of 1999, through the Arts in the Neighborhood program at West Baltimore United
Methodist Church. In August, 2003, she successfully completed Certification Level I at the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton.
Ann's background
is in classical clarinet performance and teaching. She has performed with the
Houston Symphony, Texas Opera Theater, Maryland Symphony, Annapolis Opera, and
various chamber ensembles. She is founder and director of the Howard County Clarinet
Camp, and has taught clarinet for over 17 years. She especially loves teaching
young children and their parents, and enjoys making music together at home with
her eight-year-old son, Paul, and three-year-old daughter, Rose.
Ann is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute
of Music and holds a M.Mus from SUNY Stony Brook.
Christy Van Horn (Saturday morning class) received a Masters degree in Expressive Art Therapies and Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in Cambridge MA. She is licensed to practice counseling in MD and works with a variety of populations using the arts to facilitate the counseling process. Christy received her Music Together Training in Princeton in 2005. She is excited to combine her love of music and working with children.
