MysteryAuthors.com is fortunate to have among its membership the following esteemed authors who will be judging our contes. Their combined experience with award-winning fiction and contests will bring much to our competition and we're grateful to have them:

 

Co-Judges Mike Nettleton and Carolyn Rose

Mike and Carolyn are the authors of several novels including The Hard Karma Shuffle. Mike is a two-time winner of the Pacific Northwest Short Story competition and a Colorado Gold finalist. Carolyn has past experience with contest judging and is herself a second place winner of the Pacific Northwest's mainstream mystery category. She also placed twice for the Colorado Gold.

 

Wendy Laing

Wendy has been an English teacher and is the author of several mystery novels, including Severance Packages. She shortlisted both in poetry and short fiction in the 2001 Inner Kiss Publishing writing competition. She was a judge in our 2005 Minute Mystery contest.


Courtney Mroch
Courtney Mroch's award-winning writing include: A Landmark Christmas (essay, 2nd Place, Writer's Journal Travel Writing Contest 2005); Fate's Way (Honorable Mention, Writer's Journal Romance Writing Contest 2005); the first line from her recently completed 3rd book The Ghost of Laurie Floyd (Finalist, 5th Annual Best First Line Contest, 2005); Leaving a Mark (2nd Place, Bitten's 2005 Short Story Contest); The Hammerhead (2nd Place, Twisted Shift's 2005 Short Story Competition), and Skin Ish Ca (2nd Place, 2003 Preditors & Editors Readers Poll). She was also honored when Florida Monthly Magazine recognized her as one of their 21 Intriguing Floridians and featured her in their October 2005 issue. She is the author of Beneath the Morvan Moon and Cellfish Ways
, the latter of which was Echelon Press's number two bestselling dollar download for 2004. Ms. Mroch and family recently relocated from Jacksonville, FL to Nashville, TN..

 

Judge/Contest Editor: Lisa Logan
Lisa's story The Christmas Present won KeepItComing.net's 2004 Holiday Story Contest, plus she's won Honorable Mention in Writer's Write 2003 Short Story Contest and shortlisted Flash Me's Jan 2005 Flash Fiction Contest. Nearing completion on her second novel, Twelve Steps to Murder, Lisa's has had essays and stories (such as A Kink in the Tale) featured in Futures and Explore! magazines, Chicken Soup for the Recovering Soul, and Misadventures of Moms. She is the coordinator for all mysteryauthors.com contests.
