NARFE CHAPTER 190 MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING APRIL 2, 2009 Meeting called to order at 10:40 a.m. by President Tony Pizza. Attendees : Tony, Carl & Dukie Bailey, Juanita Davis, Bob Willis, Vic Johnson, George Ramirez, Marilou Balangue, Mary Ellen De Luca.Treasurer Carl Bail ey reported funds of $3739.38 + $25.00 petty cash. He and Dukie will be attending the state convention in Concord May 1,2&3.1st V.p. Juanita Davis said that we have 862 members . Some are new and some are reinstatements. The letter she sends seems to help to reinstate. The luncheon attendees have been very attentive to the speaker. They are remembering to turn in their badges.2nd v .p. George Ramirez said that NARFE had great success in getting retirees in the Stimulation Package. He will visit both Congresspersons' offices during spring break. He has asked Bob Warnagieris to speak on Ventura County traffic problems. Alzheimer's office is moving to 80 Wood Rd. The retiree Base pass is still unclear. We need to continue looking for Board replacements.Serv ice Officer Bob Willis has new F-100 forms that make it easier for survivors to settle estates.Motion made by M arilou Balangue that we have no more corned beef at the luncheons. Passed unanimously. She said that last month was the smallest turn out. Maybe it was the meal. It will be meatloaf in April and lasagna in May. She will accept checks made out to Food Share or goods each month.Newsletter Editor Vic Johnson said that April is NARFEPAC month. He will include a request for donations to Food Share . Delivery of the Newsletter depends on the printer, mailer and Post Office - things over which we have no control.The District meeting in Burbank will be on May 16 .
