NARFE CHAPTER 190 MINUTES OF BOARD MEETING for DECEMBER Held NOVEMBER 21, 2008 Meeting called to order at 10:45 a.m. by President Tony Pizza. Attendees: Tony Pizza, Vic Johnson, Juanita Davis, Carl Bailey, Marilou Balangue and Mary Ellen De Luca. Minutes of previous minutes accepted as corrected. Treasurer Carl Bailey reported current checkbook balance is $4416.75 + $25.00 petty cash. The Alzheimer's Assoc. donation will be made in November 2009. It was moved and passed that we donate $1500 to six organizations: Elk's Lodge, NARFE/FEEA, Ventura County Rescue Mission, Project Understanding, Food Share and the Salvation Army at $250.00 each.1st V.p. Juanita Davis reported membership stands at 853. The 2nd v.p. and Service Officer are out of town. Marilou reported that at the November General Meeting 109# of canned goods were collected for Food Share. Juanita has volunteered to lend medical equipment to members for their use. She will put an article in the Newsletter .Programs for General Meetings: December - party, January - motivational speaker - Carol Leach.Newsletter Editor, Vic Johnson brought up the possibility of occasionally increasing the number of pages. All agreed. Carl reported that Dukie is recovering from surgery. She will arrange for the cake for the December meeting. Carl will sell raffle tickets for the Convention drawing in Jan., Feb. and March. Juanita will keep a box of recruiting materials in her garage.
