Ventura County Chapter 190

General Meeting - February 26, 2009

Meeting called to order at 12:02 p.m. by President Tony Pizza. 1st v.p. and Sergeant-at-Arms Juanita Davis gave the invocation and led the pledge to the flag. She told all of the death of long-time member Chris Vasquez.

Tony introduced the guests and luncheon was served.

2nd v.p. George Ramirez introduced our speaker, Dr. Jim Vernon, a geologist and WWII pilot. He spoke about his flight training and war experiences in the Pacific. He had a very good Power Point presentation with many pictures.

George said that next month's speaker would be George Cogswell, President and Publisher of the V.C. Star. He will speak on the future of newspapers.

George also reminded us to pay attention to actions in Congress affecting us.

Tony said that there is material available about Camarillo Airport museum and activities. Pat Brown from the Neighborhood Council brought it in.

Meeting adjourned at 2:20 p.m.
