Ventura County Chapter 190

General Meeting, January 22, 2009

Meeting called to order at 12:00 p.m. by President Tony Pizza. 1st v.p. Juanita Davis read the invocation and led the pledge to the flag.

Luncheon was served.

Tony introduced guests and new members. He spoke of the death of Al Morales, a long time member and BBQ chef who did our annual BBQ's for years. Our sympathy to Natalie.

2nd v.p. George Ramirez introduced our speaker, Carol Leish, M.A. She is a motivational speaker whose theme is "Call Me Capable." The intellect is still there after her accident, but the writing and speech are problems. She uses a tape recorder to record her thoughts and ideas.

1st v.p. Juanita Davis said that she sends out reminders to people who need to renew their memberships. We should all invite those who do not attend the luncheons. She complimented all on their attention to the speaker.

2nd v.p. George Ramirez said that we are still working on support for our needs with the new administration. Next month's speaker will talk on WWII or the Depression.

Ways & Means Chair Marilou Balangue said that the See's certificates are now $13.00. In store cost is $15.50 per pound.
