Ventura County Chapter 190

General Meeting, 26 March 2009

Meeting called to order at 12:00 p.m. by President Tony Pizza. 1st V.p. and Sergeant -at -Arms Juanita Davis gave the invocation and led the pledge to the flag. Luncheon was served.

2nd v.p. George Ramirez introduced our speaker - himself. His presentation was pictures of his and Heather's trip to Asia - including Thailand, Cambodia, Viet Nam and Laos. His narration was informative and witty.

1st v.p. Juanita Davis is trying to get dropped members to reinstate. She pushes dues withholding. She also asked all to leave their badges in the baskets or on the table in the rear of the room.

George said there is a possibility that FERS may be allowed to rollover sick time into retirement credit.

Tony introduced the new members.

George said that the Alzheimer's Assoc. office is moving to 80 Wood Road.  NARFE has now passed the 8 million dollar mark in donations to research for a cure or better ways to fight the disease.
