General Meeting, October 23, 2008
Meeting called to order at 12:00 by President Tony Pizza. Sgt. at Arms Juanita Davis read the invocation and led the pledge to the flag.
Luncheon was served. Tony introduced our guests.
Tony introduced Manny Maldonado from BC/BS who spoke about the changes for 2009. Open season is November 10 to December 8. He said that we should be sure to read about the changes in the official brochure. If you need help in understanding them you may call him for help. The prescription program has some important changes. There will be rate increases.
1st v.p. Juanita Davis is sending out dues letters to those who have been dropped stressing rejoining and using dues withholding.
Program Ch. George Ramirez said that the November speaker would be from the Alzheimer's Assoc., December
- Christmas party, January - motivational speaker, February - a WWII veteran.Tony asked for nominations from the floor for the Board for 2009. There were none so he called for nomination of present Board by acclamation. So done. Anyone interested in serving is welcome to attend the Board meetings to learn what the different positions involve.
Juanita offered congratulations to Wayne Ehlers from all of us on the article about him in the V.C. Star.
