Spontaneous Painting is done "on the wall" with free flowing professional grade tempera paints.
What is Spontaneous Painting?
Spontaneous Painting is a freeing
and joyful exploration of the creative process. In a Spontaneous Painting workshop,
the principles of creativity are discussed, creative blocks are identified and students are guided to work through creative
blocks. Intuition is strengthened and students create paintings that are uniquely their own. Imagery will arise effortlessly.
The inspiration for Spontaneous Painting is from within one’s self.
There are no rules to follow in the form of the painting—perspective and proportion is not a concern. Also, meaning and quality are not discussed since any such analysis interferes with the creative flow.
Professional grade tempera paints are applied to smooth surfaced paper attached to the wall. Students obtain their colors from a community paint table. Painting
is done in silence.
Students are energized in the experience of witnessing their creative process. The transformation
of the Self is a gift of Spontaneous Painting.
