A Quick Autobiography:

I was born January 12, 1969. My family first lived in Bloomfield NJ, and then moved to Madison NJ when I was two. I attended Lucy D. Anthony Elementary grades 1-4, St. Vincent Martyr Catholic school grades 5-8, and Madison High School (Go Dodgers!, Class of 1987) grades 9-12. In 1991, I graduated from Trenton State College (now called The College of New Jersey) in Ewing Township NJ; my undergraduate major was Physics (Computer Science track). I then moved out west to Ft. Collins CO to study atmospheric science at Colorado State University. In March 1994, I earned a Master's degree. After dabbling with a PhD for a bit, I took a programming position at CIRA in Ft. Collins. In October 1995, I moved back east to work as a scientific programmer/analyst for SAIC at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland.

I am married to the former Alison J. Smith. We met way back in the summer of 1997 when I answered a personal ad she'd placed in The Washington Post. Alison's a veterinarian, which comes in handy for taking care of our three cats, Bailey, Hydrox, and Willow. (We miss Stassa and Nimbus). Alison and I own a house in Bowie MD - that we always seem to be in the process of improving. We like to go to hockey games and concerts, and to watch (too much) TV and Netflix DVDs - but mainly we spend our time taking care of and playing with our daughter Sarah and our son Nicholas.

My parents, John and Linda, now live in Little Egg Harbor NJ. I have 3 younger brothers: Steven (who still lives in Madison with his wife Jenne and their three kids), Bryan (who lives in Chicago IL with his wife Anne), and J.J. (who lives in New Jersey and is a co-owner of a computer company - LANFusion). I have made some great friends both here at Goddard and while I was a graduate student at CSU. What we mostly have in common is that we are all a bunch of weather weenies. For fun, we like to track and chase severe and winter snow storms.

I've been a member of the Sundogs softball team at Goddard since 1996. I'm a lifetime fan of the 1995, 2000, AND 2003 Stanley Cup champion New Jersey Devils, the 26-time world champion New York Yankees, and the three-time Super Bowl champion New York football Giants. Some of my other interests are collecting Pez dispensers, playing video games, photography, traveling, music, animated tv shows, golf, and fantasy sports.
