COW CHIP BINGO
WHAT?:
WHEN?:
WHERE?:
WHY?:
Cow Chip Bingo is a game of chance.  You purchase a "plot" of land inside a rectangular pen (it's all measured out nicely and marked off).  When the game starts, a cow will be placed inside the pen.  Then it's the high paced, fast action game, of waiting to see who's plot the cow "plops" on.   You may sweet talk the cow from the outside of the pen. You may do just about anything except use force or food to lure the cow into your section.  Hopefully your plot gets poo'd on.

Each Plot deed costs $10.00 each.
June 13th, 2009.  We will be at Foxborough Founder's Day fair.  The cow will enter the bingo field at  3:30. (You do not have to be present to win)

Shortest Answer I can come up with:  It's a great way for ACO Thibideau and  me to get out and have a fun day with everyone and also be productive in helping raise funds and awareness of the animals we come  into contact with daily.  Each year we are givin a meager amount of municipal budget to cover all of our needs. An example: Norfolk receives about  $4500 a year for ALL our running expenses, vehicle, maintenance, supplies, and medical care.  That doesn't go very far.  On top of that, animals that do not fit under the guidelines of chapter  140  of the general laws (which means MOST animals other than dogs) do not have protection and do not qualify for aid in most instances through municipal budgets.

BOTH Foxborough and Norfolk have "animal gift accounts". These accounts are set up to accept donations (usually tax deductible) from generous donators. These accounts are protected and will not be rolled over/reimbursed back into town funds to  cover general budget shortfalls.  These funds DO get used to help animals where we cannot otherwise help them. Whether it is a litter of kittens that need housing, feeding, vetting,  a dog that has extensive needs and needs to be held for an animal cruelty case, or a malnourished horse that needs to go through rehabillitation.  This allows us to do what needs to be done on behalf of the animals. This fund also allows us to purchase needed supplies and equipment that we would not be available through our budgets.

Take a look around the webpage of www.norfolkanimalcontrol.net . There you will see many happy success stories of how we built our small shelter through generous donations, how we've helped animals in bad situations by giving aid they never would have received otherwise, and in general been able to provide an "upgrade" in an animal's life.
