How to sign up for the USATF Junior Olympic Meets

USATF Junior Olympic Meets are open to all kids who are USATF members. At every meet, athletes are allowed to participate in the maximum of four events according to their age groups. We usually encourage all NTF athletes to go for the USATF meets since they provide very good competition experience and give the kids the real taste of the sport. Also these trips are always much fun for the kids and make them feel like being a part of a team.

In the Summer season, there are usually four USATF meets scheduled in June-July:

1. Area-7 Meet (South-central Pennsylvania)
2. Mid-Atlantic Association Meet (Eastern Pennsylvania and Delaware)
3. Region-2 Meet (Mid-Atlantic, Niagara, Tree Rivers, and New Jersey)
4. National Junior Olympic Championship

Each meet serves as a qualifier for each next one. In the subsequent meets, athletes will have to compete only in those events they earned qualification for.

For participation in the USATF Junior Olympic meets, you need to submit the following items to the USATF:

A. filled-out athlete entry form (need to fill in the USATF# and events)
B. registration fee (per event)
C. athlete’s birth certificate (copy)

As a rule, registration for the first qualifying meet is done on site (unless the meet director requests mail-in applications). Registration for every next meet must be completed at the preceding meet only.

Participation, traveling, accommodation, and registration for the USATF events is the responsibility of parents. NTF will provide all necessary information beforehand through flyers, Club website, and e-mails.
