About Us |
In the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God, our Lord and Savior. That's the only statement of faith we ask of people who join the church. We read the scriptures with open minds as we seek to grow in our faith and understanding. We baptize believers by immersion, but accept all forms of Christian Baptism for church membership. For more information about the (Disciples of Christ) go to http://www.disciples.org/discover/. Although we are a Christian Church (DOC), we are also a part of the United Protestant Assembly, consisting of the four different congregations. This is a situation unique to Richland, and grew out of the need for churches to serve many denominations during the building of the Hanford Project in 1943. United Protestantism allows one to belong to any one of the participating churches while maintaining an active participation with the denomination of his/her choice |
