Background
in magazine publishing When I was the editor of three monthly magazines, "Dime Detective", "10 Story Western", and "Rangeland Romances", my job included working with professional artists to create magazine covers and illustrations for each story. I also wrote stories and columns for these and other pulps. These days my energies are focused on painting and on being a happy member of the Drew Art Association. Many subjects interest me. I try to convey the lyrical varied beauty of the world with landscapes. When I paint portraits, there is a special thrill in painting from life, in capturing not just the sitter's facial forms but his individual personality. You may not know these people, but hopefully you will recognize some of their emotions.  |
