Olney Kehila’s Torah

In 2007, Olney Kehila acquired our first Torah scroll. Here are some of the facts, figures, and estimates about our Torah:

It is believed to be about 100 years old.
It is possibly a Polish Torah that was used in a European Synagogue until just a few years ago.
It is an antique 42 line Vuv Tikun-style Torah.
Every column starts with the letter Vuv.
It is written in high quality, standard Ashkenazy writing.
It is written on 21" parchment with 15.5" writing.
The Torah is white coated on the outside and natural parchment inside.
It was reviewed by world-renowned Sofer Reb Yitshok of New York.
