Summary

In a world where one in five adults is illiterate, someone steps on a landmine every 30 minutes, and a billion people live in abject poverty, ordinary people really can make a difference. This presentation introduces three cases of people using the transnational connections made possible by global civil society and the Internet to achieve a more just and sustainable world—effecting change in unconventional ways with laptops, rats, and taxis.
