Congratulations to the WPSL West Division Champions California Storm on another successful season!! The 2005 regular season completed with the Storm finishing with thirteen wins and a tie to lead the WPSL West. The Storm played in the 2005 WPSL Championship Tournament in Agawam, Massachusetts this past weekend. The Storm won their semi-final game against the Steel City Sparks 3-0 with two goals from Chelsea Hunt and a third from Leslie Osbourne. See some of my photos from the semi-finals.

The Storm lost a hard fought battle to FC Indiana in the 2005 WPSL championship game. FC Indiana won 4-3 on penalty kicks after the game finished 3-3 in regulation and 4-4 after overtime. The local paper, The Republican in Springfield, MA has three stories on this weekends action FC Indiana prevails - Chastain knows the score and Mutiny fall in semifinals.

Congratulations to the 2004 WPSL Champion California Storm!! The Storm finished the 2004 season at 13 wins, 1 tie and 2 losses. Check here for 2004 Schedule and Results. The Storm hosted the 2004 WPSL Championship Tournament 31 July and 1 August at Folsom High School Stadium. The Storm beat the Denver Diamonds in overtime in the Semi-Final then went on to beat the new England Mutiny 3-2 in the Final. The Storm were also ranked 7th in the World by the Womens World Football Rankings

The 2005 WPSL will be three divisions, the Western (Ajax of Southern California, California Storm, Elk Grove Pride, Lamorinda East Bay Power, Las Vegas Tabagators, San Diego WFC Sea Lions, San Francisco Nighthawks, Union FC of No. California, Utah Spiders), the Central (FC Indiana, Denver Diamonds, Houston Stars) and the East (Massachusetts Stingers, New England Mutiny, Philadelphia Pirates, Rhode Island Rays, South Shore Select, Steel City Sparks).

The Storm will play their 2005 home games at Folsom High School Field Map

In 1998, the Storm joined most of the Western Division of the W-League to form the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
