Halloween Party, Sycamore Island, Oct. 27, 2007

This was quite a unique experience. This gig took place at the clubhouse for the Sycamore Island Canoe Club on, of course, Sycamore Island in the Potomac River about 20 miles upstream of downtown D.C. To get to the island, one must take a towpath from one of the nearby parking lots down to the access point on the river, pull on a rope that rings a bell at the club house, then the caretaker brings a raft out to the mainland and brings you back. This was quite an adventure with several hundred pounds of musical equipment. Oh yeah, and in the dark, too. But it was well worth the effort; we had a great crowd, we had a blast, and it was one of the most unique gigs we had ever played.

The last picture of Lee and Todd (doing his Gene Simmons impersonation) was taken by John during this different sort of "rafting trip." Unfortunately, because it was dark, most of the pictures from the adventure on the towpath (which, by the way, featured a significant change in elevation between the two end points) did not come out very well. But you can take our word for it; it was indeed an adventure.
