"By The Lakeside With The Crows"

I want you to try and remember something
Crows in a lakeside field
Two lovers who once walked hand in hand
And whom in memory always will

A bird that shook its tail feathers
How we both laughed at the sight
Sitting on a blanket by the water's edge
Glowing in sweet morning's light

Snakes swimming across the lake's surface
How I swore I'd always protect you
You just smiled and kissed me sweetly
As maiden with their knights do

There's a feeling I get on certain mornings
Autumn leaves softly remind
Of days when I lived carefree in your arms
And how they don't feel so far behind

I want you to try and remember something
If only for a brief moment or so
Two lovers who once walked hand in hand
By the lakeside with the crows
