"Naia & I on the pier in the storm"
With deep set fathomless eyes
She looked at me and said, "let's get out of here
I'm in the mood for some self-destruction
Let's crash and burn on the nearest pier"
Maybe it was the alcohol taking over
Because I admit I don't usually do this
But she changed my mind completely
With her violet lipstick kiss
We went out on the deserted boardwalk
Skipping like seagulls ready to take flight
She said, "I've saved all these broken pieces of me
For someone like you tonight"
She said she was a daughter of the godly
But she was disillusioned by faith
"The only heaven I know is the one I feel
Whenever my desires escape"
We watched the storm as it came closing in
Someone came running by saying, "evacuate"
I asked her "don't you think we should go"
But somehow I knew she wanted to wait
I think she liked the sea raging before us
The torrent and the wind and the storm
She took my hand and put it on her breast
"I want you to keep me warm"
I put my arms around her
And asked her "is there anything you fear?"
She looked at me with a distant look
"Not tonight" she whispered in my ear
I'll never forget the way she kissed me
Right then as the rain began
Just her and I hungry for intimate passions
between a woman and a man
Then as the waves rose to meet us
We made maddening love on the pier
In the rhythm of thunder and lightning
bathed in cold sweat and hot tears
She said "love me just a little longer
I want to always remember this"
I saw the hurricane on the dark horizon
As we took our last long kiss
"My father the ocean bids me to return"
She whispered trembling as she cried
I held her tight against me one last time
"I will always keep you inside"
waves crashed over us, I grabbed a railing
Watching the sea claim its own
Then she was gone beneath the waves
And I once again was alone
The storm faded and the clouds disappeared
I looked out to the ocean deep blue
"Goodbye Naia daughter of the sea
I will never ever forget you"
Now every day I come down to the shore
Hoping she will be there again
And I pray someday she will come back to me
Borne on the rains and wind.
