I currently work for the Sailor Help desk on their Internet Project at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore. As a Help Desk Assistant, I provide assistance to a statewide user base of library employees, private citizens, and government employees and officials. Provide first level support to the users of Sailor information services (web sites and information databases), Sailor Internet access services (network and dial-up services), and Pratt Library e-mail accounts. Diagnosed and resolved problems involving access to and use of these services. Communicated with users and technical staff via telephone and e-mail. Additional duties included HTML editing. I also prepared the instructions for connecting to Sailor in all operating systems which is sent to all Sailor users.
In June of 1999, I became a software trainer at the Gateway Country
Store in Glen Burnie, Maryland. I taught the full range of Microsoft Office
applications. I also taught the Internet.
Taught Excel course at
Carroll
Community College. Also taught Job Search on the Internet. Taught
Introduction to
Microcomputers at Carroll Community College. This course included a brief
introduction to
the Windows Operating System, an introduction to Microsoft Word and Excel as
well as an introduction to the Internet. I have taught a two day Excel course and a three
session class on the Internet. Students learn to use Internet Explorer and Outlook
Express for E-mail. Taught GroupWise and Access at the Baltimore City Health Department. Developed my own
PowerPoint presentations for Introduction to the Internet and Introduction to Windows. Worked as a volunteer trainer teaching Windows and Microsoft Works at the Pikesville
Senior Center. January 1997 to May 1997, taught Introduction to the Internet at Essex Community
College including Netscape, E-mail, Newsgroups, Discussion Groups and basic Web Page

dBase for Windows through Towson University's Business Outreach Program. I have prepared
WEB pages for myself and others including the University of Maryland Pharmacy School
Alumni and the Greenspring East Homeowners Associations. I have also taught a class in
FrontPage, Microsoft's HTML editing program. Fall of 1995 to Fall of 1996, taught Introduction to Computers at Essex Community
College. Software applications included WPWIN, LOTUS and PARADOX for Windows. Also taught
children at Edgewood Youth Center. January 1995 to Fall of 1995, taught software applications as a consultant for a
company that had a government contract. Courses taught included Overview of Windows,
WordPerfect 6.1 for Windows, GroupWise and Excel. 1991 to December 1994, Quality Coordinator with the Social Security Administration,
Office of Disability and International Operations (SSA, ODIO)--Resource expert in total
quality. Prepared training packages and taught employees team training, statistical
process control tools, flow charting and value added flow analysis. Facilitated teams
including the Office of Telephone Communications Quality Council (office responsible for
SSA's 800 number). Conducted my research and studies of TQM issues including reengineering
and reinventing primarily through computer bulletin boards and the Internet. . 1980 through 1991, Various managerial positions with SSA, ODIO. 1975 through 1980, Legal Assistant in SSA primarily preparing fact statements used in
the US District Courts defending the Secretary in denied disability claims. 1970 through 1975, Operations Analyst for SSA. 1968 through 1970, Disability Examiner for SSA evaluating disability claims.
