About Chop,WOK & Talk!

Chop, WOK, & Talk! started 8 years ago as the only Southeast Asian Cooking School in the Pittsburgh area! Since then, due to its success and popular demand, the school has added classes from other countries. The owner and instructor, Dorothy Tague, has taught and taken cooking lessons for years. Her classes are easy to follow, hands-on and fast-paced. Dorothy, and her assistants Martha, Marianne and Erin give individual attention to all students according to his or her cooking skills. In the same lesson, a well-seasoned cooking student will feel challenged, and a novice cook will feel well looked after. Ask any of her students!

 

 

Chop,WOK & Talk! offers

 many different options:

PLUS:  a “gift certificate program” for multiple classes that will save you $10.00 a class….see schedule of class section for specifics

 

Chinese Cooking Series I: a series of well-planned and tasty classes that will progressively increase your Chinese cooking skills while preparing your favorite dishes. (4 classes)

 

Thai Cooking Series: a series dedicated to those lovers of   coconut, cilantro, lime, mangoes, pineapple, curries, and HOT & SPICY foods. (3 classes)

 

Dim Sum Series: where you learn all the techniques and recipes for making Asian appetizers. (2 classes)

 

Single Night/Day Class: a variety of classes lasting 3 hours. These classes change periodically and are prompted by student’s requests

· Corporate Teambuilding: specially scheduled ‘hands-on’ cooking classes where colleagues gather for fun, food, and camaraderie. (luncheon/dinner)

 

· Private Parties at the School: a cooking experience for friends/relatives/co-workers where your group selects the menu and participates in the cooking of the meal.

 

· Children’s Birthday Parties:  a cooking party consisting or 3 items of your choice for participants 8 years and up.  One adult must be present.

 

· Gift Certificates: give to ‘foodie’ friends for that special occasion, a thank you, a gift, or a special ‘treat’ for yourself!

    Credentials:

 

· Trained with Anna Kao (owner of Anna Kao's Restaurant in Fox Chapel) for many years.

· Attended the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts.

· Has a BA degree in education and taught high school for 12 years.

· Is Nationally Certified in Sanitation & Food Service Management.

· Regularly teaches cooking classes for the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC).

· Guest instructor at Robinson Twp. Market District Cooking School

· Teaches adult education cooking classes in the Penn Trafford School District

· Teaches cooking classes in conjunction with Xperience Days, a national gift certificate company

· Former instructor at In The Kitchen & Crate
